We are a traditional Chocolate Shop. The majority of the candies we sell in the store are made right here in our kitchens, by us! The name of the store comes from two inspirations - the building we've been in for 20 years looks like you'd imagine a Bavarian Cottage may look. And the chocolate formula we use was originally a German Chocolate recipe - thus the name Bavarian Chocolate Haus!

Wiseman, a famous theatre architect with the instruction to, “Design the most technically perfect theatre possible”. Constructed of rose hemlock in the Adirondack Style with hand carved fixtures and near perfect acoustics, the then 350 seat, now 300 seat theatre was considered as fine as any on Broadway.

RTP has been working closely with the Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG), Maine Department of Transportation and the Public Health Program at the Opportunity Alliance (TOA) to increase the convenience and sustainability of this valuable service for the Lakes Region community.

A survey of over 400 Lakes Region residents, conducted by GPCOG and TOA this spring, indicated strong support for the service. One in six respondents noted that the lack of a vehicle, or reliable access to transportation, can be a barrier to employment for them.
