Seed Events & Gatherings             November 13, 2014

Seed Community Groups are gatherings where people can learn, live, and grow together in their knowledge and experience of the gospel. Our community groups are designed to foster discipleship by embracing, embodying, and exposing the gospel. Our groups are also staging grounds for empowering missional activity within the community as well as outside of it.

The ministry of Jesus was a ministry of community, so it comes as no surprise that we were created for community. At Seed Church our community gatherings are places where seekers and believers-and even doubters-can come together to experience Christian community. If you would like to be involved or inquire about a community near you, please click here .

The goal of Praxis is to discuss a variety of topics such as parenting, communicating through conflict, managing finances, or religion. The emphasis of the classes is to dialogue around ideas in order to grow together.   This upcoming week Seed has two Praxis events taking place.

The first Praxis is on Sunday, Nov. 16th at 1:30pm on the topic of Old Testament Prophets led by Pastor Brent Rood.

The Old Testament prophets begin with Isaiah and end in Malachi. These portions of Scripture are some of the most beautifully written and most often quoted in churches and in pop culture. However, the prophets are also some of the most misunderstood and misinterpreted books of the Bible. At this special praxis we will try to give you the tools to read and understand each of the prophetic books in context.

We will answer questions like:
Who was the prophet?
What was the purpose of prophecy?
What prophecies were fulfilled and when?
What prophecies are yet to be fulfilled?

The next Praxis will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19th at 7pm on the topic of Effectively Managing Stress led by Dr. Chris Cotner.   Dr. Cotner has been diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions since 2003. Naturopathic psychiatry is a comprehensive, integrative approach that empowers people towards optimal wellness using life-style modifications, natural treatments, and medications. Here is a link to Dr. Cotner's fb if you want to know more about him. https://www.facebook.com/NaturopathicPsychiatrist

Both are full of great insight and information - mark your calendars and join us!

The Hazelwood Elementary School homework club is underway!

We are looking for volunteers who can help students with their homework on Tuesdays from 4-5 pm.

If you can't commit weekly, we can use you in whatever capacity you are able. Contact Christy Rood at info@dyingtolive.org if you're interested.

"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.  If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection."
Romans 6:4-5

"Unless a seed falls to the earth and dies, it remains alone.

But if it dies, if produces a rich harvest. Anyone who loves his life,
loses it. But anyone who despises his life in this world,
will keep it all the way to eternity."    ~Jesus
