- Spring Season practice schedules are now available on our website! Outdoor practice will begin this week so be sure to check our website and/or App! As always, feel free to contact your team manager or the club with any questions.
- That's a wrap on the Winter Season! Thank you to all the players and families for taking part in our winter practices, clinics and mini tournaments. We look forward to continue watching you develop in the Spring.

South Shore Select Players Selected to Train at U.S. National Soccer Combine
Congratulations to

Ally Sentnor (Hanson), Lilly Reale (Rockland)

for being invited to the U.S. National Soccer East Coast Combine this weekend in Connecticut. All four girls were selected
to attend the event and represent the New England Combine and display their skills and abilities in front of coaches and US Soccer Staff. The U14, U15 and U16 National team coaches were in attendance.
We are so proud of all of your hard work and we look forward to watching you grow as both incredible players and people in the future! Congratulations girls!

Game Recaps
And we're off! The first games of the Spring Season took place this past weekend and we couldn't be more excited! Congratulations to the following teams:
- U14 Elite Blue with a 2-0 win over GPS! Goals were scored by Carmen Yebba and Caleigh Tryder! Way to go ladies!
- U13 Elite beat NEFC 1-0! Goal was scored by Nina Tiani! Congratulations on your first win of the season girls!
Due to the weather conditions, all other games were cancelled this past weekend. It is unfortunate that many of our teams were unable to kick off their season this week, but we are looking forward to getting some outdoor practices in before next weekend's games! We look forward to hearing how all our teams begin their Spring Season! Good luck everyone!

Select Goalie Training
Starts This Week
Spring Goalie Training starts up this week! Our Goalkeeper Director, Jay Woodward, will be working with all of our goalkeepers this Spring Season.

Please remember that all goalkeeper training is free of charge to our players. The sessions are not open to players outside of South Shore Select.
Players that are interested in exploring the goalkeeper position, are welcome to come out and try some goalie sessions!

4th Annual Golf Tournament
This year's 4th Annual South Shore Select Golf Tournament will be held Friday, May 12th at the South Shore Country Club at 1pm. This year, funds will be donated to Select families in need of financial support, St. Jude's Hospital and South Shore Select Enrichment Programs. We only have a maximum of 32 groups so be sure to register ASAP!
As always, we will be holding a dinner afterwards, beginning at 6pm. We welcome all non-golfers to join us for dinner at the end of the tournament. For more information and details, please check out our

Leadership Workshop!
South Shore Select will be partnering up with Edgework Consulting to run a leadership workshop this Spring on Thursdays for our girls.
We are excited to offer our girls a unique opportunity to complete a four part leadership training series exclusive to our players.
Over the 4 weeks, players will learn the following:
- An increased understanding of leadership qualities and styles to further develop strengths as a leader.
- A toolkit to build confidence and resiliency.
- Effective communication & accountability skills for emerging leaders to use on and off the field.
Registration for this workshop is now open. We anticipate this program will fill up quickly so register ASAP!

Select's Featured Coach
Beca DoCarmo
Beca began coaching for South Shore Select in 2011. Since then, Beca has been an outstanding member of the South Shore Select family. As a young player, Beca played for her town's travel soccer team, Rockland, and continued to play for Rockland High School Girl's Varsity Team for Mr. Lima, the founder of South Shore Select and Mike Phipps, the King of South Shore Select ;). She was named captain of her team during her senior year. Beca continued her soccer career at Massasoit Community College from 2009-2011 with Mike Phipps as her coach. During her senior year, she was once again named team captain. She also was named NJCAA All-American in her senior year. After Massasoit, Beca went to Bridgewater State University to continue her education in Psychology.
During this time, Beca began her career as a coach at Select and received her NSCAA National Diploma for coaching. She also began her role as the Assistant Coach of the Girl's Varsity Soccer Team at Rockland High School from 2012-2014 and later the Assistant Coach of the Massasoit Community College Women's Team in 2015.
Currently, Beca is the head coach of the U14 Pre Elite and U17 Elite teams. She is also the Assistant Coach of the U15 Pre Elite and U16 Pre Elite teams. In addition, Beca is the head coach of the Pembroke High School Girl's Soccer Team.
Beca's parents, Meira and Galbas Docarmo immigrated to the U.S. from Brasil in 1989. She is 1 of 4 kids. Her passion for soccer resonated from her father who played professional soccer in Brasil.
Lastly, we want to welcome Beca as an official full time staff member of our Select Team. We are very excited to have you and we look forward to watching you grow and succeed at Select!

Players vs Coaches Recap
This Friday, March 31st, we held our first Players vs Coaches Showcase. After a very busy and fun Winter Season, this was the perfect way to mark the official end of the Winter and beginning of the Spring season! Thank you to all of the players who participated! We couldn't be more proud of all the hard work, commitment and improvement we've seen this past Winter and we look forward to watching everyone improve over the Spring! Go Select!

A Head of the Game

In the United States, over 300,000 sports-related concussions soccer annually. and the likelihood of suffering a concussion while playing a contact sport is estimated to be as high as 19% per year of play/ More than 62,000 concussions are sustained each year in high school contact sports.
Dear Parents,
Having a Baseline test in place is an invaluable tool used by doctors to determine the severity of a concussion and to provide proper treatment. Along with physical assessment, ImPACT testing puts a strong foundation in place to manage the concussion properly and return your student athlete to school and to play. ImPACT testing is a computerized neurocognitive exam that measures your child's cognitive abilities such as recall, reaction time and pattern recognition. The test takes approximately 35 minutes to administer. Test scores on ImPACTS secure site and are password protected. Test results are provided to ImPACT Specialists if an injury is suspected. Test scores are then compared to the baseline test. Post injury testing and visits are provided by Credential ImPACT Consultants listed on the ImPACT website. BASELINE TESTING IS $45 AND IS VALID FOR 2 YEARS. South Shore Select will
cover this fee for any of our U11 and Up players who get a baseline test though Jeanine Donato.
