Select's Featured Coach
      Jay Woodward
Select's  Goalkeeper Director

We are very excited to have Jay Woodard continue to work with our goalies this Spring Season. Jay is one of the top goalie coaches in the region and we are very honored to have him as a part of our family.

Jay Woodward is the owner of the American Keeper Company, one of the premier goalkeeper training/clinics in the Northeast.  The American Keeper Company has provided specialized elite level goalkeeping training since 2008.  He has shared his experiences as a player (USL-PDL Cape Code Crusaders) and elite coach (MLS New England Revolution) to enrich his player's technical, tactical, and mental skills.

Jay was most recently the Goalkeeper Coach of the Wheaton College Women's Soccer team, for a second time. Before joining Wheaton he was the Head Coach at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 2014-2015, and in 2009 Jay was appointed Head Assistant Women's Coach at University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.  He was responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day operations of a nationally-ranked Division II program transitioning to Division I, as well as overseeing and training the Goalkeepers for both the men and the women. During his tenure with the Cardinal women, Incarnate Word posted an overall record of 29-17-10 (.607) and a Sweet Sixteen appearance in the 2009 NCAA Division II tournament.

Jay also served as the head women's soccer coach at Johnson & Wales (R.I.) between 2006 and 2009.  He was responsible for all facets of the Wildcats program, including the management of the team budget, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, coordination and implementation of the Division III philosophy. The 2006 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year directed Johnson & Wales to an overall record of 29-41-5 and two appearances in the GNAC Championship tournament.  He mentored a total of 10 All-GNAC selections, including the 2006 Player of the Year in Leah Farrar.

Prior to joining the Wildcats, Woodward was the women's assistant coach at Wheaton College (Mass.).  Serving as the goalkeeper's coach, the Lyons advanced to the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III tournament between 2003 and 2005, including a trip to the national semifinals in 2004.  In 2004, Wheaton tied the NCAA record for shutouts (22) in a single-season.

The Weymouth, Mass. native played his intercollegiate soccer at Franklin Pierce and Northeastern University.  He currently holds an Advanced National and Advanced National Goalkeeping coaching license from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Jay will be an exceptional resource for our goalkeepers and coaches and we can not wait to see how much they improve this Spring under his tutelage.
