Send
a Smile to Israel for Chanukah! |
|
Chanukah began over 2,300 years ago when the
Jewish people liberated Jerusalem from Syrian control, only to find
the Temple desecrated by Greek statues and idols. Heartbroken, they
lovingly cleaned their beloved Temple. On the 25th day of Kislev,
3622 they were ready to rededicate their Temple and light the
Menorah, but could only find a small jug of pure olive oil still
bearing the untampered seal of the High Priest.
There was only
enough oil to light the menorah for one day, and it would take
eight days to procure additional pure oil. It was then that the
miracle occurred. The tiny amount of oil stayed lit and continued
to burn for eight days, proving that God had again taken His people
under His protection. Chanukah, meaning rededication, commemorates
the miracle of the oil as they light their candelabras, their
menorahs, each night for eight days.
Once again we
are offering you the opportunity to bless a family living in Judea
and Samaria or an IDF Soldier this Chanukah with a special basket
of cookies and other goodies to let them know you care and are
standing with them.
Each goodie
basket costs $30.00 and includes all delivery
charges. Orders need to be received by November
30th for delivery during Chanukah December 2 - December 9,
2010. This is a great way to send a special blessing during the
Festival of Lights to show your solidarity with an IDF soldier or
to your adopted community!
