We all enjoyed getting our 2017 Above and Beyond calendars and thank Eileen for all her work. When I looked through the months, I can remember some of the stories from the major vote getters. Every picture has a story that is remembered by some and possibly remembered by many. I believe all rescue setters can tell a story. Some stories did not receive many votes, but are important and tell the story of A & B Setter Rescue. A few that caught my eye are included below.
In January find a picture of Bacall who originally was in Arkansas and now in Pennsylvania and definitely doesn’t like snow. Winslow also a January boy had a short but meaningful story. His forever Mom says “he has a gentle spirit and has a big heart”. “He is absolutely the best dog in the world”.
Nutmeg is one of the February girls who came to A&B in 2015. She celebrates when she catches the Frisbee, by putting her nose in the air and parades around to show off.
Bean pictured in May is a big girl now, but was one of Dixie Cups puppies who were fostered by our transportation director. She enjoys many wonderful things like snuggles, chew toys, giving kisses and chasing squirrels.
Find Whimsey’s in June. Her owner past away and was rescued in Ohio. She started her agility career and has already earned a leg towards her lure coursing title.
Topper, seen in July was found as a stray on I-90 Highway and rescued by ACES. Sadly his forever dad developed a life threatening infection. We rescued Topper a second time and you can see by his picture is living the good life again.
Bear, another July Boy, was part of a transportation failure! During the week of recovery the family fell in love with him and wouldn’t let him go. Early in his life he was an outside hunting/breeding setter. He quickly adjusted to inside life of love with his forever family. Who said setters can’t swim?
Stella in November is one of the “Peanuts Gang”, who was fostered by our foster director. Stella enjoys chasing bubbles and birds all day.
