This group is led by our dynamic duo, Dr. Danielle Neddo and Mary Schultz, MMFT, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.

More Summer Groups for Young Women!

The Young Women's Program at the Institute for Girls' Development is excited to announce our summer services for college students. If you have students who will be in the Pasadena/San Gabriel Valley area over the summer, we're available to provide them with an empowering environment of support. Our year-round services include individual, couples, group, and family therapy as well as Comprehensive DBT and workshops.

Walk Your Path: Early Career Professionals, Graduate Students, or Recent College Grads - Women's Process Group -  This group provides a supportive space to collaborate with other women from diverse backgrounds who wish to find more balance in their lives. Participants explore their many roles and learn to cope with the intersections of career, culture, relationships, academics and family. This group also helps women navigate different paths and find confidence in making big life decisions.

ACT Therapy Group: Change your relationship with depression and anxiety: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of therapy which helps you relate differently to your anxious feelings, depressed moods, worrying mind, self-defeating behaviors, and/or anything else that causes you problems.  The aim of ACT is to limit the ways these challenges run your life. This six-session group is for college-aged young women who want to encounter depression and anxiety differently and pursue a full and meaningful life

Life Skills for Launch: Many young adults today are interested in building skills for living independently.  In six fun, experiential sessions, you'll have an opportunity to learn and do. Make a meal. Make a budget. Cope with stress, and more!  This six-session group is for students headed to college, in college, taking a gap year, or transitioning to life after school.

Young Women's Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Program: We offer a Comprehensive DBT program that adheres to the highly structured model researched by Dr. Marsha Linehan. This program is mindfulness-based and skills-oriented.  It aims to equip young women in learning skills for regulating their emotions.  We provide individual DBT therapy, a DBT skills group, and phone coaching as part of this comprehensive program.  Students who would benefit from a comprehensive DBT program are welcome to apply to our program and participate over the summer if accepted. We can also provide information about other DBT programs in the area if our program is not a match for some reason.

If you would like more information on any particular group, please contact us at     626-585-8075, ext. 108.
