Greetings!

The end of August is bittersweet. On the one hand, summer is coming to a close, but on the other, the excitement of new beginnings that always comes with the September days is starting to tickle. Our summer send-off party was a fun-filled success, and we've got some photos posted up on our blog, in case you didn't make it.

The Bloom Program is starting up again next week, with programming especially for 3 - 5s and, as always, the end of the month means there are some things you need to do to make sure your account is ready to go for the new season.

September school bells will soon be ringing, and they've swept up our awesome AM teacher, Amanda, to a new position with the Vancouver School Board, which means there will be some new people around the daycare in the next couple of weeks.

This is always a bustling time of year, so let's get on with it! Read on.

Thanks for coming to our Party!

We had so much fun with all the families who made it down to Jonathan Rogers Park this weekend Sock Monkeys for our Family Fun Day. What a blast! The weather held, the bubbles were enormous, and the Carnival Band made everyone smile! Find pictures and details on our BLOG!

Big thank yous to Barefoot Books for setting up the storytime tent, to Yoga Buttons for organizing a kids' yoga class, to 3H Craftworks for our great prizes, and to the Co-operators' Buckle Up Bears program for the carseat safety information.

We had some contests, and want to congratulate Jordan for his watermelon creation that won the carving contest, and to Nolan, Robyn and AJ for the attendance draw! They each win one of the sock monkeys from 3H Craftworks, made with love in Vancouver, BC, supporting adults with disabilities. Check out their super adorable line of products, including felt stories!

End of the Month Checklist

Even more than January, September is the time to start new things. We know how busy this time of year is for families, so we've created a quick reference checklist for the things you need to do each month to keep your Buddings account active and ready for action.

1. Have you made your purchase for September? The deadline is Sept. 1, so if you're planning to come in next month (or have your August hours rolled over), don't forget to LOG IN and make your purchase before the end of the week.

2. Do you have any hours left? Remember, 4 or more will move forward on the 1st, ONLY if a purchase has already been made. Three or fewer WILL NOT be rolled so be sure to check your balance. (If you do not make a purchase of hours by the end of the day, roll over hours will be attached to a Hold My Spot package for $60, released upon payment.)

3. Have you paid your Snack invoices? They are issued on the 1st, and are due by the 1st of the next month. You can find all your paid and unpaid invoices on your Dashboard, as soon as you LOG IN. (You can always pay snack invoices with cash, at the centre, rather than using a credit card. Please don't forget.)

The earlier you make your hours purchase, the sooner you can book your time, but as always, we hold a reserve of spots for each hour, so if you're finding your spots filled, feel free to email Talia

Still Spaces Available in the BLOOM for 3 - 5s Fall Program!

Our BLOOM Program is coming into its third season, and the last spot is waiting for your little buddy to join us for the Fall Season (September - November).

BLOOM is a specially coordinated program of activities for 3 - 5 year olds, running Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1 - 4pm. The cost for the program is $660, for 40 hours of care per month, and participating buddies attend the classes at least twice a week, with additional hours every month for flexible, anytime scheduling. Find all the details on the BLOOM page of our website.

If your child will be three by the end of November, you can register them for our fall season by contacting Talia for a handbook and payment options. A 50% deposit is required to secure your spot for the 3-month term.

Fond Farewell to our Lovely Amanda...

Your kids love her, and we're as sad as they are, but our absolutely amazing Amanda Bonetti has been called up to the big leagues, and is leaving Buddings in September for a job with the Vancouver School Board.

After seeing her in action for the past four months, we're not surprised they chose her, and we know the elementary kids are going to love their new teacher!

Here at Buddings, we're excited to welcome Jayme Ross, an ECE with her specialization in working with toddlers, who will be taking over Amanda's old shift. She isn't available until the second week of September, though, so you'll also be seeing a lot of our sub-extraordinaire Marie Tan.

It's a bit of a shuffle, but these things happen, and in a couple of weeks, everything will settle right back to normal. Please let us know if you have any concerns, but we think we've made the right choice, and look forward to getting to know these great new teachers.
