 PET OF THE WEEK :
3 Years Old, Female
Hi, I'm Sugar! I found my way to CPR along with 24 other dogs from the same home. As you can imagine, after having only one owner (and a lot of other dogs around), it's taken me some time to adjust but I'm coming around to being a pet. I'm a typical Chihuhua who plays hard to get. I'm sweet and think I'm tough and can be a little shy at first.

For all your pet supplies & grooming visit:

Plumbing Tip of the Week:

Many people have heard about filling the bathtub with water before a hurricane hits-so why is this household hack beneficial?
First of all recognize- this is not the water you want to be drinking. It should be used to help flush toilets, and for cleaning purposes. Health officials also warn against bathing children in this water and using it for cooking. This is because the lead used in bathtub and sink construction can leak into the water. Also, VERY IMPORTANT: Secure the bathroom so that they do not get into the tub without you knowing and possibly drown.

For all your plumbing questions and concerns call your Local Rooter Man team,

Auto Tip of the Week:
Taking precautions for your car before a hurricane: take photos of the exterior and interior of your car for insurance purposes. Make copies of important documentation like the cars registration and insurance information and keep in a water safe place. Park your car in covered parking if available and avoid parking under trees and power lines.
It's also not a bad idea to make sure family members have a spare key to access the car if you can't. As soon as storm is over and you've checked on your loved ones and home, check on car and take photos of any damage you see.

Tip of the Week by Insurance Expert!

Prayers for everyone affected by Hurricane Irma
Take photos of all valuables in your home and document, keep receipts. Contact your insurance company as soon as possible to report a claim. Insurers typically visit the most severely damaged areas first, so be prepared to provide an accurate description of any damages. Make sure to get a claim number and write it down since it's the quickest and easiest way to locate your file.

Mattress Tip of the Week:
We are hoping no one has to deal with this...but should your mattress get wet (as long as it's not wet with flood water), there is a chance it can be saved. DIY mattress restoration is not usually successful and will require professional restoration. However, this is where weighing the cost of replacing the mattress vs restoring it will come into play.  You must act fast because mattresses can become moldy in less than two days.
