This is a day late, but better late than never...
2018 Boundary Awareness Training
Opportunities Sponsored by the
Maine Conference UCC

"Everyday Boundaries" with Rev. Dr. Susan StonestreetUnlike many boundary training's, this workshop does not focus on the kinds of misconduct that wind up in the newspaper, but on the ordinary and vexing boundary conflicts that clergy manage every day. For example, clergy are often torn between the needs of their families and the demands of their congregations. To complicate matters, clergy are often rewarded at church for being over-responsible, and criticized at home. Stir in a congregation's anxiety about decline, the lack of interest from the millennial generation, and worry about the future, and setting boundaries can become an experience of setting sail in a perfect storm. A focus on "Saying No to Say Yes" will help us live more abundantly in our personal lives and ministries.  10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018 @ Union Congregational UCC of Ellsworth Falls, 2 Falls Court, Ellsworth $25.

Annual Meeting 2018
Spirit ~ Stories ~ Love!

Have you heard our Good News gossip about this workshop?

A New Community of Worship Outdoors
- Earth Care & Spirituality Resource Team

Based on recent workshops by the Earth Care & Spirituality Resource Team, we have concluded that there is interest in developing a new kind of worship community that would take its praise and prayer outdoors, in and with nature.

In this workshop we will suggest some starting points and practices for such a community. Then we will talk and see if a more nature-centered spirit will bring us together and call us out into "the really grand cathedral." There, hopefully, we would both encounter the Creator God and find inspiration to actively commit ourselves to the integrity of God's creation.
Story Four!
The fourth story telling event at the Maine Conference Annual Meeting
IT HAPPENED WITH ME AND SOMEONE ELSE!
Remember that time that you and your buddy got caught trespassing? Remember the time you fell in love on the Ferris Wheel? Or that time when you were in the church choir with your brother, and you got laughing during silent prayer and couldn't stop? Then come and tell us a story.
Yes, we are going to have the Fourth Not-annual
Storytelling Event at this year's conference meeting. We are looking for storyteller who can share with us TRUE, INTERESTING and relatively SHORT stories. Now that's a pretty wide open subject. Almost everything that has happened to you has involved someone else. If your story involves church life, even better, but it need not.
If you'd like to share a story, send me a brief synopsis. Email me at
We can use about 10-12 story tellers. And YES! there is a prize for the best story!
