 Eclipse Recording Company- October 2012

Hello everyone,
There's lots of big news to share with you. To begin, the first game app we've developed with our partner, Splurgle Appz, is in the Apple app store today and we're very excited about it! we've released it with the first five levels and the next five to follow soon.
Our even bigger news is that we closed on our new studio space and will begin construction soon. It's only 5 minutes from our existing studio but will suit your needs better and we look forward to seeing you there when we celebrate our opening!

As always, thank you!

Featured CDs of The Month

Brent Byrd - Evolution of the Free
Adapting an acoustic solo style, his scruffy voice can be likened to a deeper Bob Dylan. His music overall is similar to Jack Johnson with less eclectic lyrics. There aren't "bubble toes" to be in had in Byrd's tunes, but they possess the same beachy vibe.
Given the relaxed nature of his guitar, Byrd's songs never come across as overbearing in their meanings. His music is always uplifting. Mainly, he just encourages folks to take a second look at the world

Collapsible B - Here's Where I'll Rest My Soul
Collapsible B, fronted and inspired by talented singer/songwriter John Dickie IV, has produced a little gem of an album that sets forth John's unique vision of our world, and in terms melodic, harmonic, acoustic and metaphoric tells us how to deal with it.

There are love songs here, and songs of longing, and tales of misfortune and cosmic irony, all harnessed to a compelling rhythm and decorated with high lonesome picking and engaging piano lines. The lyrics are simple and pithy, and the tunes and refrains will stay in your head long after the record has ended.

Dickie and the boys have created a great listen, and you will find yourself returning to it again and again to reexamine its crystalline facets.

-Lonesome Bert Hodge

Call for ART & GOODS / SERVICES donations for 2nd Annual "All For Alex" Fundraiser

In less than one year, the local community has raised $59,000 of the $70,000 needed to help a boy named Alexander Fast get a life-saving liver transplant. Much has happened since our first "All For Alex" Benefit Dec. 7, 2011 at The Foundry on Anastasia Island. Through an art auction, raffle, car washes, community garage sales and marathons, we are in the HOME STRETCH to help save Alex!
Alex, 14, is the son of Michelle Smith, a High Tide Gallery jewelry artist, Kindermusik teacher and single mom. He has an auto-immune disorder and the medicines he takes for his disease have destroyed his liver (and his hearing as well).

The needed medical fund (under the Children's Organ Transplant Association, or C.O.T.A.) covers the expenses NOT covered by Medicare/Medicaid. These incl. immediate transportation to the hospital doing the surgery once a liver becomes available (Pittsburgh Children's Hospital just agreed to do it, after a year of Michelle asking many, many hospitals) and all of the extremely expensive anti-rejection medications required for his body to accept the liver.

Aimée Wiles Banion of High Tide Gallery is intaking the donated artwork, jewelry, goods and services gift certificates for the upcoming BENEFIT AUCTION on Saturday, Nov. 10th. Please email her asap if you would be willing to generously donate something  or a gift certificate for a service (ie: a 1-hour beach photo shoot, % off tax preparation, a new book series, computer repair, free ad, florist bouquet, or salon service, etc.)

*EMAIL: HighTideGallery@gmail.com

By Oct. 15 to be included in electronic media promotions leading up to the event.
*ITEM & RETAIL VALUE:
(We can provide you with a tax-deductible donation form from C.O.T.A.)
