"Diversity" Poster Collection by Stephen Lewis
September 2 - September 29
The main library is hosting an exhibit of international diversity themed posters owned by long-time labor activist Stephen Lewis. The posters address such topics as immigration and women's rights, race, sexuality, and religion. Mr. Lewis says, "The ideas depicted in this exhibit encourage us to think about stereotypes....Some posters go further by encouraging not only a change in thinking, but also suggest ways to make changes." Mr. Lewis will present a "Monday Mornings" talk related to the exhibit and his poster collecting activities on September 22 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. Reach Stephen Lewis at [email protected].

This project is supported in part by a grant from the Lawrence Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
