"The trailer ... is a great tool that will be used to heighten awareness across the nation to the fact that human trafficking - and specifically, sex trafficking -- is very real here in North America and within our industry. But, this is not occurring in our industry by choice. No, that's not the case at all. These traffickers are targeting our industry and our drivers, and the businesses where our drivers must frequent as part of their daily work life. Driving a truck is one of the most noble of professions in the world. Our men and women of the industry are truly heroes in their own right for the work they do day in and day out delivering our nation's goods to all of our customers and, frankly, to all of us. This nation's economy, security, and well being rests on retaining these great drivers and the ability to continue to attract new drivers into the industry. In the midst of performing this great task, they are being targeted by traffickers, and that's unacceptable. Our youth are also being targeted by traffickers. As you visit the TAT website or tour through the Freedom Drivers Mobile Experience Trailer, you will see the tactics that are employed to steal our youth and draw them into the world of trafficking."

--Scott Perry, TAT board member and vice president of Supply Management, Ryder Fleet Management Solutions, speaking at the press conference for the Freedom Drivers Project at GATS

"Seeing this picture brought tears of joy to my eyes. As a survivor of trafficking and being trafficked to truckers, I've always had a hard time seeing semis as anything but bad memories ... but seeing this truck rolling down the road, filled with information to stop this epidemic and empower survivors, has healed my heart and given me hope. Thank you!"

--Joy, a human trafficking survivor upon seeing the photo of the Freedom Drivers Project moving along the highway

What is TAT?

Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is a non-profit organization that exists to educate, equip, empower and mobilize the trucking industry to combat human trafficking as part of their regular jobs. Domestic sex trafficking occurs along our nation's highways and at its truck stops, where traffickers can sell their victims to a transient population they believe are less likely to attempt rescue. In response, TAT is asking the 3 million domestic truckers, as well as other members of the trucking industry, to become aware of this issue, and, when they suspect a human trafficking case, to call the national hotline and report it. Visit our website at www.truckersagainsttrafficking.org to learn more.
