From the Principal's Notepad
Dear Parents,

Recently, we celebrated the Freshmen Bible Mass and on the very next day as an entire school community, the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary.

At each Mass, Fr. Kaz and Fr. Rob respectively, talked about saying "yes" to God's invitation to engage Him. While Mary's "yes" granted all of us the opportunity for salvation, our "yes" opens us up to engage God through prayer enabling Him to use us, doing great things for us and each other. We have all been blessed with talents, gifts, and opportunities. By praying and listening, we allow our focus to be on the good that God wants for all of us, all the time and to be reminded of the triumph of Jesus past, present and future.

This year, each month we will be highlighting faculty and for September we are featuring, John LaRoche, our Assistant Principal.

John joined St. Francis in the summer of 2013 after being with Diocese of Chicago for over twenty years. In Chicago, John taught 5th and 6th grades, middle school Language Arts and Social Studies, rising up to positions as Assistant Principal and than Principal. John is from a family of educators. His wife is currently working with teacher interns from the University of Florida and his daughter is teaching elementary school in Alachua County. In addition to John's administrative duties, he also teaches junior Theology. Thank you, John, for your work with our young people and faculty.

Please be sure to see the Advancement information about our 11th annual "Celebrate Catholic Education" Auction and Dinner. Ms. Harris and her Committee have many ways that you can help with this great event. Please remember to also RSVP for our October 2nd 10-year celebration.

Peace,

Ernie Herrington
