  One New Tech @ MDTAP
Each month we'll highlight a new device in the
Assistive Technology (AT) Library

Mini Keyboard with Keyguard ($125) - A Bluetooth wireless mini-

keyboard with keyguard helps people who type with a single finger or a pointer in three ways:
  1. The small size of the moisture-resistant keyboard (9" wide by 5.75" tall) reduces the distance that someone has to reach to access all the keys.
  2. The keyguard fits between the keys and prevents simultaneously striking two keys next to each other.
  3. The keyguard is slightly taller than the keys to allow resting your hand on the keyguard without activating keys.

  Portable Ramp Access Project
Stay tuned as we inch closer to officially launching the Statewide Portable Ramp Access Project (SPRAP)! The official launch announcement will be distributed via the MDTAP website, MDTAP's Facebook & Twitter pages AND on our blog, Where It's AT

The SPRAP will make available a variety of portable ramps throughout Maryland for consumers to borrow for up to 120 days.

EyeOn App ($2.99) is a relatively simple yet useful app that makes iteasy for people living alone to maintain their independence by automating a call for help, and by reassuring those that care for them that they will be notified if there is a potential problem. The app allows the individual to set their own schedule for when the service will check on them (via Push Notification). If the individual fails to respond to the message in the appropriate amount of time, friends/family are immediately alerted. This ensures that help is never far away for those in need.

Available in the AppStore for $2.99 and on Google Play.
