September 2017
1025 Main Street      Grand Junction     970-255-9642

"The old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air ... Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year's mistakes had been wiped clean by summer."

About Dana Storey
I discovered yoga in 1980 when I was overweight and very unhealthy. I was certified in Las Vegas, Nevada and went on to teach and learn and share the life-changing benefits of yoga in Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Mexico, Chile, and my home state, Colorado.

I use a blended approach, based on clinical and historical evidence, with an eclectic combination of experience and education, and a passion for empowering others.  Along with decades of personal practice, I am Yoga Alliance 200-hour certified, have a BA in Exercise Science/Holistic Health Coaching and a MA in Clinical Counseling. I also have a variety of certifications for somatic psychotherapy, personal training, group exercise, balance/falls prevention, aging, rehabilitation, and posture assessment.

Emotional Freedom Technique / Tapping Class
Presenter: Angela Clark
Saturday, September 9
6:30 to 8:30 pm
Cost: $35 early bird by Sept 2 / $45 after Sept 2

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), or Tapping, is a healing tool that empowers you to alleviate anxiety, depression, anger, impatience, stress and more. Any problem can be helped with EFT. Light tapping on acupressure points is used to release emotional blocks stored in the physical body.

Once we clear out negative emotion around an issue we create space to experience mental and emotional clarity. EFT brings you to a new level of personal awareness and problem solving.  We will do EFT as a group on general well-being that will gently remind you of the truth of who you are: a creation and creator of love!
 Handouts included.

About Angela Clark
I am new to Grand Junction and I am thrilled to teach more folks about EFT. I love moving energy. Movement is the active part of transformation. I use EFT, channeling, Reiki and many practical tools that help you to transform energy and find personal and emotional freedom. I am also a writer and enjoy the outdoors. Yoga is an integral part of my self-care, which is how I found the great community at Yoga West.

Inspirational Cinema

Peace Is Every Step
Saturday September 16
 6:30 to 7:30 pm
FREE

ALL ARE WELCOME!

This 50 minute film is wisely centered around the quiet words and serene presence of Thich Nhat Hanh, a zen master and second most famous Buddhist teacher alive today. His efforts to bring a peaceful end to the American war in Vietnam earned him a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a forty year exile from his homeland. His ongoing work teaching reconciliation and meditation with war veterans, widows, orphans, refugees, therapists, and many other groups has gained him a very large following around the world. Filmed on location in France, Wash. DC, and retreats around the world, it is a beautifully made tribute to this amazing human. The film will be offered by a member of his Order of Interbeing.

Their will be a discussion group following the movie for those who wish to attend.

Ecstatic Dance Ceremony
Saturday, September 23
7 ~ 9 pm
By Donation

7:00 pm Ceremony of Acceptance and Releasing

The power of releasing what no longer serves you is crucial in order to evolve to a higher consciousness. At this gathering we will journey inward to observe and release patterns, behaviors, materials, and people that no longer serve our highest path. Fall is a time of change and release. The universe is abundant. We are in a time of great energy, of love and manifestation. In order to manifest what we truly want, we have to release things that are holding us back, no matter how painful, difficult, or hard it might be. In order to manifest our heart's deepest desires we must be willing to demonstrate self discipline and grace.

There is no time but now! Believe in the universe, and the universe will believe in you. Anything is possible to manifest, followed by the right actions.  Please come with the intentions to shed what no longer serves your highest potential, on an individual and collective level.
7:30 pm Ecstatic  Dance

Together we peel back layers, lay our masks down, and dance until we disappear.

Move however you wish
Honor your body
Dance with bare feet
No experience needed
All ages, genders, cultures, sizes are welcome
(children are welcome when accompanied by an adult)
Bring comfortable clothes to move in and water to drink
Safe and sacred space

The music starts slow, builds to an energetic peak and ends in a meditative space.
Ecstatic Dance is a judgment free, community driven space for exploring free-form movement and dance.

" In the end only three things in life matter:
How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things that aren't right for you"
~ Buddha
