Woodlawn 5K & 1 Mile Real Fun Run

Eight years ago, Woodlawn United Methodist Church started an event at Aaron Bessant Park, the first Saturday in November known as the "Woodlawn Fall Festival". Each year this event has 4,000 to 5,000 people to attend.
The amazing thing about the Fall Festival is that everything is
FREE to our community.

To provide additional financial support for improvements & growth of the Fall Festival, Woodlawn will be holding its inaugural "Woodlawn 5K & 1 Mile Real Fun Run" on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Andrews State Park. All proceeds from the Real Fun Run will go directly to support the Fall Festival. We are looking for businesses and individual sponsors to make the Real Fun Run a successful event to support the Woodlawn Fall Festival. There are many ways to participate. Sponsors are currently needed. There are different levels and types of sponsors; title sponsor, race shirt sponsor, medal and awards sponsor. We also need business promotional items such as pens, koozies, lip balm, discount coupons, plastic cups, etc. to put in participants swag bag
or the donation of gift items to be given away.

You can also support the Real Fun Run by volunteering; prepare race packets and swag bags, assist with Friday packet pickup & registration, Saturday event setup, pre-and post-race food tent, Saturday registration & packet pickup, water stations on the course, course volunteers, or event tear down and cleanup. You can donate or make cookies, candy, trail mix, apples, oranges, bananas, etc. for the food tent. You can also come to St. Andrews State Park and enjoy the fellowship and show your support to all the runners and walkers participating as they cross the finish line but don't leave; stay around for the live DJ music, awards ceremony, and give-a-ways.

What we really need is Woodlawn Runners and Walkers to participate in the race and encourage your family, friends and co-workers to participate as well. By signing up and running or walking the 5K (3.1 miles) or 1 Mile Fun Run you are supporting the race financially. The registration fee for the 5K is $30 and the 1 Mile is $15. You will be receiving a great looking long sleeve or short sleeve custom race shirt depending upon which event you participant in and a swag bag with assorted promotional items. There will be music, food and the fellowship of Woodlawn members coming together. You do not have to be a highly trained athlete to participate. Your Sunday school class, small group, youth groups and men's & women's groups
can run or walk together.

As a sneak preview to the 2017 Fall Festival,  all your favorite food vendors, games, bouncy houses, hay ride, train ride, yellow bus, face painting and hairspray from years past will be there. This year we have added; Dave & Buster's on-site activities, Chick-fil-a food tent, Chick-fil-a cow, Stilt Walkers and balloons, Blue Belle Ice Cream Tent and The PCB Fire Department & Advance Fire Protection conduct a live fire burn demonstration and don't forget all the give-ways; gift cards, TV's, sunglasses, and stay-cations just to name a few.

This year we have also added the Woodlawn Sunset Concert on the night of the Fall Festival at Aaron Bessant Park. This concert is also FREE to the community. "The Blues Council" from Nashville, TN will be performing at this year's inaugural concert with a variety of Blues Christian music.

Your participation through Registration & Sponsorship is vital to the success of the Woodlawn 5K & 1 Mile Real Fun Run. Please sign up now; to register go to woodlawnpcb.org/run/ and register now. If you word like to be a sponsor give me a call and we can discuss the levels and
type sponsorships available.

If you have any questions please contact a Real Fun Run Team Member,
church office at (850)234-3196 or myself to discuss further.
