WHITE COAT CEREMONY 2017
For the first time, Salus hosted its White Coat Ceremony at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. As the venue is also used for Spring Commencement, the stage in the Center's Verizon Hall now marks two monumental celebrations for Salus students - the transition from student to healthcare provider and the transition to a practicing professional. 
 
Eye Care in Haiti
OPTOMETRY STUDENTS PROVIDE VISION CARE INTERNATIONALLY
From August 9-16, 16 of the  University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO)  students who are members of  Students in Optometric Service to Humanity  (SOSH) along with Drs. Laine Higa and Harpreet Minhas traveled to Haiti where they provided nearly 1,000 comprehensive eye exams. 

The trip allowed students to provide humanitarian vision care to individuals who have never had eye exams before.
Students Guide Future Healthcare Practitioners 
STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN ARCADIA HEALTH CAREER SUMMER ACADEMY

Occupational Therapy (OT)  and  Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)  students participated in Arcadia University's Health Career Summer Academy. The summer academy aims to introduce middle school students to a variety of health professions and discuss pathways to achieve their future career goals. Both groups provided engaging activities for the students to learn a little more about how OTs and SLPs help others. 

 PA Students Explore Healthcare Topics In-Depth
GRADUATING PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT STUDIES STUDENTS' CULMINATING CAPSTONE PRESENTATIONS 

Physician Assistant students will showcase their capstone presentations from Monday, September 25 through Wednesday, October 4. 

The presentations cover a variety of timely healthcare issues, ranging from effective treatments to preventing addiction relapse, 3D printing to create joint replacements, using gene therapy treatments for certain types of cancers, and much more.
