SPOTLIGHT

Operation IDEATION

Eastside Pathways was invited to present a challenge for students taking part in Operation IDEATION, a three-week summer program sponsored by the Bellevue School District (BSD), for students entering grades 7 and 8 in the fall of 2017. The focus was on fostering innovative thinking through the Design Thinking framework among youth. The program was conceived and developed by Debbie Brandt, Curriculum Designer and Program Administrator for BSD.

For Eastside Pathways, it was an excellent opportunity to integrate youth voice into their work. Read more

September is Attendance Awareness Month!

As the 2017 school year begins in the Bellevue School District, there is a critical message being communicated to parents, students, and the wider community:

"Right Place. Right Time. Ready to Learn!"

Conversations on Equity

Bellevue School District, City of Bellevue, Eastside Pathways, and Leadership Eastside, invite you for a discussion on Racial Equity. The event is a follow-up to the Eastside Racial Equity Summit held on June 27, 2017, facilitated by Courtlandt Butts from the Pacific Educational Group. We will continue our conversation on aligning existing equity initiatives and deepening individual understanding and commitment to the work towards a more equitable Eastside.

Welcoming Week in East King County

Welcoming Week is a national celebration with events that bring people from diverse backgrounds together. It's about welcoming newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and those who were born in the US. Events offer the opportunity to meet people you might not normally get a chance to know, and to learn about other cultures. View the events happening throughout East King County, hosted by Eastside Refugee and Immigrant Coalition ( ERIC)

2nd Annual Welcome America Health Fair

Bellevue Family YMCA and International Health Community Services invite you to connect with your local community resource groups. Participate in health screenings ( blood pressure, sugar, hearing), learn about health insurance options, voter registration, know your rights workshops.

The conference will include an exclusive 3-hour session with Dr. Karen Mapp, Harvard Professor of Education, national expert of family engagement in education creator of the dual capacity Building Framework, and best-selling author.
