Gurnee Community Church Children's Ministry

Whether you are just joining our Children's Ministry monthly emails or have received them for quite a while there are always great thing to read about!  We're glad you are a part of the GCC's Children's Ministry!!!!
SUNDAY SCHOOL

Update Registration Forms
Every fall we complete the registrations forms for Children's Ministry.  This helps us stay current on addresses, allergies and any other pertinent changes.  Please plan on coming a few minutes early to church on Sunday to complete the form.

Grade Promotion
We had grade promotion last Sunday and it was wonderful to see all the children standing in the sanctuary!  Please remember that if you have a student in kindergarten-5th grade that you will check them in at the check-in desk and then bring them into the sanctuary with you for worship time.  You will then pick them up in the Family Life Center (gym) after service.
FAMILY EVENTS

Phases Mini Retreat
Saturday, September 29th  from 3:00-4:30 pm.  No matter what age your child is this pertains to you.  Often we say, "It's just a phase," because we are struggling through a tough stage in our child's life but what if we embraced that stage with joy and love.  This retreat is a great way to learn how to do that.  Childcare is provided.

Fall Festival
Saturday, October 20th from 5:30-8:30 pm at Kroll's Farm.  There will be hayrides, a corn maze, farm animals and a potluck dinner.  The cost is $3 per person (max $12 per family).  Sign up will be coming soon.

DIRECTOR'S SECTION

How was your summer?  Do you look back and think what did we do over the last three months?  Or do you have tons of pictures of all of the activities you did?   Whether you were super busy or just relaxed, we are all settling back into school routines.

Let's try to bless our children during this time of transition and change.  Reminding them that God is there for them to watch over them, give them strength, helping them to make wise choices and giving them the light inside of them to shine on others.

May you also be blessed with the knowledge of Proverbs 22:6...

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

May we all walk into this next school year trusting that God is with us and our children.

Sincerely,

Carrie Yeaman
