How to Talk to Non-Catholics about the Faith

As 'the Francis effect' prompts more people to inquire about the Church and her beliefs, be ready to respond!

Bring the Gospel Home

Sunday's Gospel ReadingSeptember 27/28, 2014

Jesus tells another story. He wants the religious leaders to figure out which of the two sons did his father's will. Was it the one who said yes, but never showed up? Or was it the one who said no, but later repented and did what his father asked? Jesus was teaching that a life of holiness is both what we do as well as our attitude and intentions.

Meditation: Can you think of other times when people say one thing and do another?

New Director of Religious Education

Brian Guillot

There's a new Director of Religious Education at St. Anne Catholic Church! Brian Guillot (pronounced gill-yacht) started working in the Parish Office this week.

Brian comes to St. Anne Catholic Church with 30 years of experience as a teacher, Director of Religious Education, and liturgist. He began his ministry as a middle and high school teacher of Religion and English in Louisiana and Colorado. Then, he says, he found God calling him to parish ministry in the areas of faith formation and liturgy - first in Michigan and later in Washington. Most recently, Brian completed 19 years as the Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation at a parish in Lakewood, Washington.

Brian was born and raised in New Orleans. He earned his bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from the College of Santa Fe, and completed his graduate work in Theology at Fordham University.

"Ministry is about people working together to build up the Kingdom of God," Brian says. "I look forward to being a part of the group doing that in Columbus."

Brian, and his wife, Shawn, have two grown daughters. Please join us in welcoming the Guillot family to St. Anne Catholic Church.
