Position Available: Executive Director 

Columbia Center for the Arts, a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization is seeking a full time
Executive Director. Columbia Center for the Arts (CCA) mission is to promote an arts-rich environment in the Columbia Gorge. CCA owns and manages a 10,000 square foot building, which houses a 140-seat theatre, an art gallery and space for education and outreach programs. The theatre and gallery components have served the Gorge for over 30 years.
Successful applicant must have 3+ years of experience related to operating and maintaining a non-profit cultural organization. Applicant must have strong leadership, administrative and management skills. The Executive Director will be hired by and accountable to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director supervises staff and volunteers who implement CCA programs.

Undergraduate degree required. Background in the arts and non-profit management preferred.

Job Responsibilities include:

v   LEADERSHIP: Represent the Arts Center in a diverse community of arts organizations, visitor bureaus, non-profit and business organizations. 
Possess qualities of accessibility, openness and valuing individuals’ ideas that represent the spirit of Columbia Center for the Arts. 
Identify collaborative opportunities with appropriate organizations to extend the outreach and
marketing opportunities of the Center.
Must be comfortable being the ‘face of the organization’ out in the community and with donors. 
v   ARTS PROGRAMMING: Oversee gallery and theatre events to maximize opportunities for regional artists to show their work, and for the CCA audience to see and enjoy a variety of art forms and styles.
Provide a venue for outside groups to bring a range of cultural experiences to CCA including theatre, dance, film, music and special events.
Oversee grants and fee supported arts education programs for children and adults.
v   FUNDRAISING AND DEVELOPMENT: Extensive experience in development activities is essential.
Oversight of all aspects of contributed support including fundraising campaigns, individual and major donors, business donors, and program sponsors.
Grant funding knowledge is essential. (CCA’s grant revenue constitutes 35-45% of the annual revenue.)
v   OUTREACH AND MARKETING: Develop outreach and marketing strategies and materials to increase visitors, theatre ticket sales and other events, and art gallery sales at CCA.
Work with regional tourism and visitor promotion organizations to enhance CCA participation as part of Gorge visitor promotion activities.
v   FISCAL AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT: Oversee development of an annual budget in collaboration with Treasurer. This is to be approved by the Board. Assist staff with their individual budgets.
Treasurer will oversee financial record keeping which includes payment of all obligations and monthly budget reports.
v   PERSONNEL: Hire and manage staff, including implementation and revision of personnel policies approved by Board of Directors.

Competitive salary dependent on experience.
Flexible hours required. Willingness to work some nights and weekends.

We are published authors who share information to better market our books.
AIM   meets on the first Tuesday of each month, from    2:30 to 4:00 p.m.,
in the Creation Room,    at Brookdale Independent Living,

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month.
