After retiring from elementary teaching for 26 years, Debbie found time to develop her love of  color, design and patterns in here art work. Through self-study, workshops and a variety of classes she has developed a body of work which includes watercolor, acrylic, inks and beautiful collage papers. She shows her art in Redding, Ft. Bragg, Mendocino and Ashland, OR. She also enjoys sharing and connecting with people through the arts by teaching classes in Shasta and Sonoma counties to students of all ages. Her involvement in the north state community and beyond, inspired her to start a business called HEARTSPECTRUM ( www.heartspectrum.com ).

The September' exhibit at the Main Event Gallery features the "Plein Air" paintings of Chuck Prudhomme in addition to art and photography by Gallery Members. Meet the artists at the reception, Friday, September 8, 5-8 p.m.

Of his style, Prudhomme says, "I am interested in capturing the feel of a place and the story hidden within. I enjoy the tactile vibrancy of thick colorful paint applied in a quick, intuitive way, rather than a photorealistic image."
