Conversations with Rachel is an online discussion series with bestselling author Rachel Simmons offered October 9-30, 2018.

HEADWAYS

HEADWAYS online conversations provide girls' school leaders the opportunity to connect virtually via videoconferencing to discuss operational issues relevant to their posts. Available exclusively to NCGS member schools, participants meet in small cohorts throughout the academic year for a total of five one-hour moderated conversations about prearranged, timely topics. Sessions begin in October with 14 different cohort tracks available. Check out the topics and schedules.

Moulton Student Global Citizenship Grant

NCGS is accepting applications for the Moulton Student Global Citizenship Grant. Established in 2016 by NCGS co-founder Meg Moulton, the annual grant of $1,000 is for a faculty-led team of NCGS member school students in grades 9 and/or 10. Designed to be a launch pad for new student projects directed at fortifying their leadership skills and inspiring their role as contributing global citizens, the grant helps engage girls in leadership, fortify their strategic thinking, and enhance their global mindfulness by developing empathy and respect for others.

Applications close on September 21, 2018.

Student Leadership Conference

Nominate a student to attend the Student Leadership Conference (SLC) organized by NCGS affiliate organization the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia. Two students in their 11th or 12th grade year are invited to attend the SLC at The Women’s College of the University of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia, January 15-18, 2019. The selected NCGS representatives will join 165 fellow student delegates from Australia, New Zealand, UK, and Asia.

NCGS strategic partner, Girl Up, is generously providing scholarships to the two selected students to offset some of the costs of travel. Be sure to have your nominee mention if she’s participated in a Girl Up club. The Alliance will waive the conference registration fees.

Nominations are due by October 12, 2018.

Listening & Learning Tour

Director of Research Initiatives & Programs Natalie Demers recently visited new member Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, MA, an independent, Catholic coed school for PK-8 with an all-girls Upper School. At the opening faculty meetings, Natalie presented and led discussions on the value of an all-girls education as well as best practices in teaching girls.
