JOINT HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTEE CERTIFICATION TRAINING

Wilkens Health and Safety Solutions (WHSS) is the only Ministry of Labour (MOL) approved Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification training provider located in Kingston.
As most workplaces with twenty (20) or more workers must have a JHSC established, we regularly hold training sessions. At least one (1) worker and one (1) management representative of this committee must be certified by completing the prescribed training standards set by the MOL.

Kinark Child and Family Services Fined $125,000 After Workplace Violence Incident

BURLINGTON, Ontario - Kinark Child and Family Services, an agency providing children's mental health services and support for children and youth in Halton Region and elsewhere in central Ontario, has been fined $125,000 following a workplace violence incident where a staff member was physically assaulted by a youth.

Change to the Definition of Harassment
|
For employers, important changes will stem from Bill 132's amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The changes include modifying the current definition of "workplace harassment" and imposing additional obligations on employers concerning their workplace harassment policies, programs and investigations.

As of October 1, 2016 general minimum wage is increasing to $11.40 per hour. Student minimum wage and liquor servers minimum wage will also increase.
