Crowdfunding Campaign Wrap-Up
Dear Volunteers,

We took a huge leap of faith earlier this year when we decided to raise money for the program by holding an online crowdfunding campaign. We had no idea how it would pan out, and the ambitious fundraising goal of $150,000 we set was daunting. Yet, today I am happy to announce that the campaign raised an initial $33,000, and due to a matching gift of up to $75,000 from a generous donor, that figure has doubled. We expect to receive some corporate gifts that will allow us to take full advantage of the matching gift as well as reach our fundraising goal.
Stephanie Zarb, Buddy-to-Buddy Program Manager

Fundraising in this manner was a completely new frontier for Buddy-to-Buddy, and we are both amazed and grateful for what it has yielded. A few Volunteer Veterans who already give so much even went above and beyond by donating and fundraising on behalf of the program. In addition to receiving donations from friends and family, various organizations have come forward and given their support, such as the Decatur VFW Post  6248 and its auxiliaries, American Legion Post 309 and its auxiliary, and Tawas Bay DAV Chapter 130. Another organization, the Polish Legion of American Veterans, is hosting a Benefit Concert & Dinner to raise funds for us on October 29 in Dearborn Heights. We are so grateful for this outpouring of support from so many groups and individuals.

While fundraising is an activity necessary to keep Buddy-to-Buddy afloat, the core of the program will always be the important work that you do to help improve the lives of fellow service members and veterans. Thank you for being the heart and soul of Buddy-to-Buddy.

While we are very excited for this new opportunity for Sierra, we will miss her dearly. We thank her for the outstanding work she has done in the 2+ years she has been with the program and wish her all of the best in her new endeavor. You can join us in sending her off by emailing her some good wishes...
