2018
The Greater Ladysmith Area Chamber of Commerce (GLACC) is proud to announce that September is Wisconsin’s Chamber of Commerce Month which was proclaimed by Governor Scott Walker.
The Ladysmith Community has held a Chamber organization with records going back into the 1920’s. More recently the Chamber has broadened its wings and has sought memberships from all over Rusk County and beyond.
Today, the GLACC is a 229 member strong organization and growing. “We feel this is a great accomplishment in our small community. Our members understand the true meaning of supporting each other and our area,” states Office Manager Whitney Trott. GLACC’s members consist of 192 businesses, 36 organizations or clubs, and one individual.
“On behalf of the entire GLACC, I would like to thank our Chamber members for putting their confidence in our organization. Without you we would not be possible. We have dedicated staff and a proactive and supportive board of directors,” says Trott. “Our goal, as our mission statement reads: ‘Striving to promote Rusk County as a great place to live, learn, work, shop, and play,’ is such a true statement. This community has great schools, phenomenal recreation, employment availability, and shopping to fit most people’s needs.”
The GLACC is housed in the Rusk County Visitor’s Center in the city of Ladysmith and is open Monday through Friday to serve the community.  Staff members include: Joni Hall (Membership Coordinator) and Whitney Trott (Office Manager). The GLACC board of directors include: Dr. Robert Lecheler (President), Jessica Bingham (Vice-President), Sara Baker (Treasurer), Roxie Kemmitz (Secretary), Katie Matott (Director), Blake Doud (Director), Missy Kroening (Directors), and Jason Rafko (Director).
GLACC has hosted a variety of events throughout the year including the Northwoods Bluegrass Festival; Leaf it to Rusk Fall Festival; Arts & Crafts Fair during Mardi Gras; Rusk County Community Awards Banquet; Pictures with Santa; Shop Local Chamber Bucks Giveaway; the Annual Meeting for Chamber members; Chamber/Tourism Open House; and a co-sponsor of Winter Magic and the Farm, Home, Garden & Sports Show. GLACC also looks forward to bringing new events into the community
The GLACC has several benefits offered to their members including member referrals, social media promotions, ribbon cuttings, newsletters, weekly email with list of events, Chamber Bucks, and networking opportunities to name a few.
