Art has to move you and design does not, unless it's a good design for a bus.

Carrie Goller - Romantical, oil/acrylic 24x16
We have been enjoying the last of our summer as we hope you have. This month we have some wonderful problems -

1. This newsletter may be a bit different as it will not have the touch of our wonderful tech wizard Lauren, who is taking it easy - she has a little one on the way!!! We are very, very happy for her.

2. Max Hayslette's new work is being collected much faster than he is able to create it. A recent day saw five large pieces joyfully going off to forever homes, leaving some spaces to fill at the gallery. We quickly regrouped and he is working on more! We are loving his new depiction of Reine, a Norwegian fishing village, which is perfectly displayed in our own Little Norway (a/k/a Poulsbo).

3. Charlie Goller is always expanding his skills and is excited to be attending engraving school. Consequently, he has been unable to devote much time to creating gemstone jewelry. Stay tuned to see his new work.

4. Due to the aforementioned #1 above - Carrie's new encaustic workshop portion of the gallery website is not quite finished, but it has a fair start! If you are interested in encaustic workshops (starting in October), you can sign-up and learn more  HERE .

Sophie Frieda had a busy summer and recently finished the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour, while Gabriel Lipper was filmed for Oregon Art Beat over three days. Max Hayslette continues with sea and mountainscapes, while Carrie Goller has visited some, as she just returned from an adventure on Oregon's beautiful coast. She had the opportunity to paint with friends, working privately with a long-time student, as well as a brand new one. Here is a new student with her first encaustic painting.

Last chance, this month at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art...

Carrie Goller - Creatures Comfort Solo Exhibit Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

This is the last month of her summer museum show, so if you haven't seen it we invite you to Carrie Goller's solo exhibit Creatures Comfort at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Featuring twenty-four of Goller's original paintings and encaustic works in the 1st floor Museum Bistro (delicious food) and 2nd floor classroom corridor, the show runs through September 30th. All of the works are available for purchase and release after October 1st, although some are already spoken for. Additional work is available at the Museum Gallery Store. Take a break and enjoy this beautiful LEED Gold Certified museum, just a five-minute walk from the ferry in downtown Bainbridge Island. Admission is free, and there is much additional programming; so check out their calendar for special events.

Speaking of, Carrie will be giving an Eye on the Artist lecture at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art auditorium on September 12th at 6:30pm. Also in attendance will be Marceil DeLacy, with her witty and wonderful wood sculptures. Both will be discussing their work, inspiration, methods, and materials. There will be a reception and refreshments. You can purchase tickets for this one-night event  HERE

Another fun event happening at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art is the Meet the Artist series, happening every weekend this summer. Carrie Goller will demonstrate her painting process September 23 from 1-4pm. She will also be answering questions about her work and process.

Custom Jewelry by Charles Goller

Artist Charles Goller creates intricately wire-wrapped jewelry from precious gemstones and crystals which he selectively imports world-wide. He also does specialized custom work. He has worked hard to establish trusting connections and cares deeply about his sources; many in small villages around the globe, where the gems are mined by the villagers and contribute to the majority of their income. Ever-expanding his skills, currently Charles is becoming an engraver. Recently Charles has been invited to a museum and several galleries in Sedona, AZ and Santa Fe, NM and is also supplying a New Zealand store with his work, which keeps him rather busy. However, he does accept commissions.   Email him at [email protected].
