LIBRARY NEWS & PROGRAMS 
School Supply Drive
Help us give our local kids in need a great start to the school year. Please donate new notebooks, binders, crayons, backpacks, pens, pencils, markers, lunch boxes, rulers and other items. Supplies will be collected in the library during business hours through September 8th.

Plein Air Event
Wednesday August 22 ... 10 - 5 PM

Artists are invited to bring their easels and supplies and enjoy creating an original piece of art in our beautiful outdoor park at this wonderful Plein Air event. An exhibit featuring the work will follow in the fall. Artists, ages 16 and up, are welcome to register by visiting our website or calling 845-878-6121 ext. 10. The public is invited to come and watch area artists create their works of art. The rain date for this event is August 24. Artists please register to participate.*

If eBooks are more your thing, we've got you covered for a summer of fun! Overdrive allows you to download up to ten audio books or eBooks to your smartphone, tablet, or laptop completely free. You can even borrow a preloaded eReader for your kids. All you need is your Mid-Hudson Library Card.
Thursdays In The Park
12:30 - 2:30 PM
The games are out! Corn Hole, checkers, and other fun lawn games will be available all summer long, Monday - Friday from 10-5 PM, in our park. While you can enjoy the park any day of the week, we are setting aside time for everyone to get your friends together, have a picnic lunch or just drop by to meet new people and enjoy the sunshine and the outdoors. We’ll engage your toddler with exciting

recognition, sounds, and new words through fun songs and rhymes. Young 3 year-olds not ready for independent story time welcome.
 
Junior Geniuses
Ages 3 - 5
With longer stories and more involved crafts and activities, this class aims to increase your child’s attention span and improve fine motor skills. We’ll be singing, playing games, and doing crafts as we travel through tales.
This is a drop off program.

A book club with something for everyone! This twice-a-month club will get kids reading books that are fun and fantastic. We'll be coupling them with cool activities and projects that will get them involved with the stories and one another.

Are you ready to get crazy? Math will never be the same! During this 8-session club, Crazy 8ers build stuff, run and jump, make music, make a mess… All while bonding with new friends over math!

Teen Trivia Night

Hudson Valley Trivia will be hosting this fast-paced teen trivia night. Sign up with friends to form a team or come alone and meet new friends while you play for great prizes. *A raffle for an Escape Room 101 Party Pack (for 1 teen and 7 friends). Must be present to win.

Have a blast while learning all those great party dances that make weddings and parties so much fun! Premier Entertainment will be at the Patterson Library Park to teach Country Girl, Slow Hands, Bullfrog on a Log and other line dances so at your next event, you can join in the fun. Ages 13-17
Pawling Karate will be coming to show teens basic self-defense techniques. These will help build a greater awareness of self and empower teens both physically and mentally, while reinforcing the need to respect ourselves and others.

Attendees should be ages 13 and up
This year's teen-run play is coming in the form of a cabaret! Come see the teens as they take you through the musical styles of Broadway shows ranging from the powerful songs of Les Miserables to the razzle-dazzle of Chicago and many more!
