Cassandra Loyola,
Class of 2018
Cassandra is the youngest of two children in the Loyola family. Her sister Karina graduated from San Miguel in 2013 and is currently on a full-ride scholarship at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Much like her sister, Cassandra is a promising young lady and continues to excel both in the classroom and at the workplace. Through her first three years at San Miguel, she has maintained a 3.92 cumulative GPA, ranking her second in her class. In addition, she has consistently exceeded expectations in her work-study positions at Carondelet Health Network, M.A.D.D., and Radiology Limited.
This past summer, Cassandra received a full scholarship to attend a three-week summer enrichment program at Georgetown University. Cassandra is very involved in school and in her community. She is very self-giving and has volunteered at a number of nonprofit organizations throughout Tucson. At school, she leads her team by example in volleyball, softball, and basketball. She also serves the school as a Student Ambassador, President of National Honor Society, and President of the Environmental Club. Cassandra has not yet decided where she would like to college, but is very much interested in a career in the nonprofit sector or pre-med.
“Without San Miguel High School, I wouldn’t be able to have the same kind of love and encouragement that its inclusive community offers. I’m thankful to be able to attend such a prestigious school and to be exposed to so many opportunities that I would not have otherwise. I don’t know where I would be right now if it weren’t for San Miguel.”
