SEPTEMBER NEWS
September / 4 / 2018
Dear Forest Hills Family and Friends,

It was great to see so many of you for our Labor Day Barbecue! I hope to see you again at a very special event coming up: the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, October 13th from 8:00-11:00am on the National Mall at 4th and Madison Drive. Read on in this newsletter for more information on how to participate (registration is free!) and join our Forest Hills & Forest Side team.

I want to send our best wishes to our Director of Social Services, Donna Peang-Meth, for a full and speedy recovery. Donna is on extended health leave beginning last week and, in her absence, Karen Fryer will serve as interim social worker for our Health Care residents. Karen will also continue to carry out her duties on Assisted Living during this time and can be reached at extension 3337 or on e-mail at [email protected]. If families have an emergent need and Karen is not available, please contact Wanda Mitchell, Director of Nursing at extension 3343 or on email at [email protected].

Thank you to all of the family and friends we get to see visiting us at Forest Hills. Hope to see you around!

Sending my warm regards,

Walk to End Alzheimer's
Saturday, October 13th, 8am-11am

We invite you to join the Forest Hills' Team in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, October 13, 2018, 8:00-11:00am on the National Mall at 4th and Madison Drive.

Each year, in over 600 communities across the US, millions of walkers gather in walk-a-thons to focus on the fight against Alzheimer's and raise funds for the care of loved ones, support for caregivers, and ongoing research. There is no fee to register for the walk! You can just sign up as a team member with Forest Hills (includes Forest Side Memory Care). Since there is no fee, we encourage participants to help us fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness.

Click on our team website to sign up as a member of our walking team and make a donation if you are able to do so: http://act.alz.org/goto/foresthillsofdc

This year, we are also asking our friends and family to send out notices to all of their social connections on social media, including Facebook, to help us meet our fundraising goal. Onward in the fight!
