Rhonda Musak, Acting Coach

As an acting coach, I help actors unlock the magic in their acting.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Rhonda when I was in New York, she is a lovely person and wonderful coach. The techniques and style was great and I found the coaching really helped me discover a new level to my work. I highly recommend Art and Soul Acting!

I don't think I've ever gotten off a school schedule so letting go of August is always bittersweet for me. But now that September is in full swing I feel excited to sharpen my pencils and get back at it!

One of the first things that I'm doing this fall is giving my home acting studio a makeover. So excited! I'm very much looking forward to working with multi-year Chicago Leap with Passion Workshop attendee Amy Buss of Buss Hospitality & Design to give my studio some fresh sparkle, polish and shine.

I'm also looking forward to working with the students of Bowdoin College in Maine where I will be leading my Rehearsal Strategies Workshop later this month. We will be tackling rehearsal techniques that can be implemented while rehearsing alone or with one other person.

It's a topic that I'm passionate about because I find that actors are often rehearsing to "get it right" rather than strategically creating ways to approach the work that allows exploration and expression which will then naturally lead to a more multi-dimensioned performance.

If you'd like to understand or explore more about what I'm getting at above, just let me know as I can teach you these rehearsal strategies, as well!

Hope it will be a super September for you!

Looking to give your acting that "special something"? Look no further than given circumstances as a powerful catalyst to help you unleash the magic in your acting work.

by Rhonda S. Musak

"When we let the circumstances dictate what we do, everything will have a reason, will seem perfectly natural, truthful. It's only when we don't understand the circumstances that we have to 'act,' that we have to fake it."
Stella Adler

I had been working in class with two students on a scene from the play My Thing of Love by Alexandra Gersten. One of my students was challenged by several lines of text where her character was recounting a past incident.

I asked my student several questions which led to the creation of a very specific exploration. As my student fully immersed herself in that exploration along with the text, the scene sprung to life.

Astonished by the actor's quick and complete turnaround, my class almost all at once turned to me and exclaimed, "How did you know to do that?!?"...
