Grand Opening! 
September 10th, 2pm-7pm
It is time to come celebrate our brand new rink and training facility- an amenity for all of Central Texas for years to come! Join us for games, treats, giveaways, entertainment, and our inaugural Adult Tournament on the new ice, which starts at 3:00pm and goes until 7pm. The event is free and open to all families, players, partners, and anyone interested in youth or adult hockey!
Travis Morin of the Texas Stars will drop the puck at 3pm to kick off the Adult League Tournament. The Tournament will be a mixed league format and 20% of the proceeds will go to the Shootout Foundation (www.shootoutfoundation.org).

Labor Day Tournament Re-Cap

PHC Mallards Tournament Teams played in the Shootout Leveling Tournament this past weekend in Dallas. A big congratulations to our Peewee team who won the
Championship
in the A2 division! Hats off to our Bantams who lost in the finals in the A division. Our Peewee AA team had a 3 and 1 record. Finally, our Squirts lost in the semi finals in a shootout! It was an exciting weekend for our teams.

Mallards Minor Hockey League
Our Mallards Minor Hockey League for Mini Mites, Mites, Squirt, Peewee and 15U age divisions will begin the week of September 19th! This league is on a set schedule. The MMHL allows players to practice additional days and sign up for additional programming. MMHL players have the opportunity to be on the ice up to 6 times a week. We are excited to offer this to the Austin hockey community!

USA Hockey is Coming to The Pond
September 17th
Joe Bonnett, USA Hockey's ADM Regional Manager from Colorado Springs, CO, will be working with our Mallards Tournament Team players and speaking to our whole Mallards community on September 17th. Joe will talk about the importance of the ADM model and USA Hockey's Long Term Athlete Development Model. Learn more about Joe Bonnett

Robby Glantz is Coming to The Pond
September 23-25th
Robby Glantz, NHL Power Skating Coach, will be returning to The Pond this month to work with all of our MMHL Players. He runs a three day clinic focused on the fundamentals of skating. A big thanks to the Shootout Foundation for making his visit possible!

Special Thanks
We just completed our week long Pre Season Training Camp for our Squirt, Peewee and Bantam Mallards Tournament Teams. Players came from 8am-5pm daily to work on fundamental skill development, power skating, stick handling, systems and concepts and team building exercises. A big thanks to Sean Skinner's coach, Brittany Shapiro, who ran the stick handling portion of the training camp. And a big thanks to Karl Taylor, Assistant Coach of the Texas Stars for working with all of our players on and off the ice! Finally, thanks to all the coaches and team building leaders for your dedicating your time to our players!

ATX Fall Classic
November 25th-27th
The Pond Hockey Club is excited to host the ATX Fall Classic, a youth tournament for Squirt, Peewee and Bantam travel and tournament teams. The tournament will take place the weekend after Thanksgiving. We look forward to hosting out of town teams in our brand new facility.

The Pond will run the Dallas Stars "Learn to Play"
The Pond Hockey Club has teamed up with the Dallas Stars! We will be offering the Dallas Stars "Learn To Play" program in February. The Dallas Stars will be providing equipment, including skates, helmets and pads for all interested players. Stay tuned for more information!
