Jamboree Leaders needed for 2021- Deadline to apply is October 31st
Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Crew Advisors and Associate Advisors
3 rd Assistant Scoutmasters (ages 18-21)

The 2021 National Scout Jamboree will once again be held at the new high-adventure base for the BSA in West Virginia called The Summit. This exciting Scouting event will be held, July 2021. Although July of 2021 may look to be in the distant future, important planning steps need to be taken, in order to prepare for this large-scale event. The Mid-Iowa Council has already formed a selection committee for the adult leadership positions for the Mid-Iowa contingent to the 2021 National Scout Jamboree.

Our hope is to take three to four units to the Jamboree from the Mid Iowa Council. That means we will need 12 to 16 adult leaders and 4 alternates to mentor the junior leaders and participants in our jamboree units as the scouts and leaders experience this once-in-a-lifetime event!

If you are interested in interviewing for an adult leader position on the Mid-Iowa Council Jamboree Contingent, please submit a one-page resume which needs to include:
·        Name, email and address
·        Your Scouting background
·        Professional history
·        Additional volunteer efforts you may have
·        A short paragraph explaining why you would like to be a jamboree leader

Please note that selection as a Jamboree adult leader will bring the following responsibilities:
·        required attendance of planning meetings in advance of the Jamboree
·        full participation in a pre-Jamboree shakedown event to be held during June of 2021.
·        recruitment of Scouts and Crew members to fill out our jamboree troops and crew
·        participation in the entire Mid Iowa Jamboree tour approximately July 13 – July 27, 2021

The deadline to submit resumes is: October 31, 2018 . Resumes should be sent to the address below. Interviews will take place during November at the Maytag Scout Center. If you have any questions about these positions please contact Alan Strohmaier, Jamboree Committee Chairman at: Alan.strohmaier@gmail.com

Jamboree Adult Leadership Resumes should be sent electronically to: Alan Strohmaier, at Alan.strohmaier@gmail.com
