CHURCH AND SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Budding artists
The children at Concordia Church and Little Lambs Preschool in Berwyn, IL, "marbled" paper! They spread a layer of shaving cream on the table, dropped watercolors on the shaving cream using pipettes; used the top of a brush to spread the paint, creating lines and designs; laid a piece of white paper on the shaving cream and then scraped off the excess shaving cream. It left an amazing print on the paper, and the children had so much fun creating this unique piece of art.

They also learned how to paper mache and made dinosaur eggs, using strips of newspaper and a mixture of flour and water (the paste). The students wrapped the newspaper strips around a balloon, let it dry, then painted their eggs and added glitter.

Spring science fun
Students at Martin Luther Christian School (MLCS) in Pennsauken, NJ, witness chicks emerging from their eggs. A perfect time of year to observe new life and birth.

LOVING OUR NEIGHBORS AS OURSELVES
Has God given you a passion to care for those in prison? Do you have a formal ministry in your  church that demonstrates the love of Jesus through caring for the least of these? Do you personally volunteer at your local prison facilities providing support to inmates? We are looking for you. Our District is seeking to identify individuals who have this heart for those in prisons. If you are such an individual please contact Pastor Derek Mathers at our District office: 800-755-9335 x 311.

Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL, will be helping their homeless neighbors by providing dinners the third Thursday of the month, from May through September. They, along with other area churches, are responding to the need for meals in Northwest Cook County, as most of the programs for the homeless end in April.  What a wonderful example of how to "love your neighbor as yourself."

Comforting quilts
The Crafty Ladies of Grace Lutheran Church, Vine Grove, KY, prepared quilts  and blankets for Hosparus of Central Kentucky. Fifty-five blankets were delivered.  What a beautiful way to cover those in need with comfort and prayers.
