Serving those who serve
Members at Faith, Naples, FL showing God's love to our troops: "What a joy it was to share the morning with everyone and fill up care packages to be sent to our troops! Thank you to all who came out to help at Faith Lutheran Church, Naples, FL." We thank you, Jesus, for sending men and women to serve and protect us. Watch over them and their loved ones; keep them safe. Amen.
Honoring veterans
Students from Redeemer Lutheran School, Oakmont, PA took time to honor the military and veterans with their annual Veterans Day parade. Better Than a Bandage or an Ice Pack
By Vicki Helmling

We have a couple of items in the school office that seem to work wonders for our children at Grace - especially for the little ones - a steady supply of ice packs and bandages.

Children will often come to the office to tell Mrs. Hensley, our secretary, they have a "hurt" - often one that can't be seen - but is very real to the child who comes to the office. All Mrs. Hensley has to do is offer an ice pack or bandage and the hurt disappears.

Vicki Helmling is the school administrator at Grace English Lutheran School in Chicago, IL.  Do you have a ministry experience you would like to share? If so, you, too, could be a guest blogger for the English District. For consideration, please send an email to Lynne Cobb, Communications Coordinator for the English District LCMS.
At this "thankful" time of year, the English District staff celebrates your partnership and is very grateful for the volunteer promotional support of our LCEF Advocates. We could not do the work we do without the support and dedication of our advocates, pastors and lay leaders who help to promote the investments and ministry services that LCEF provides.
As we reflect on the gifts God has given us this year, we are especially thankful for the partnership of our Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) investors. Through their partnership, LCMS ministries are empowered to share the Gospel and LCEF is able to provide custom loans to ministries, specialized support that helps gain clarity, and alignment to further ministry outreach efforts.
From our staff to yours, have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

News from international workers
It's been another crazy month, as the weather gets colder and the kids experience the lowest temperatures they can remember.

We managed to hit six different states this month and put many miles on the minivan... but it's been a joyful time at every stop. Many thanks to the incredible places we've visited: you've given us some wonderful memories.
There are still visits left to do, and we hope to see you at one of them!

Yours gratefully in Christ,
The Ferry Family
(Charles, Cheryl, Caleb, Caitlin, Carissa, Cassandra, and Chloe)

I pray that God richly bless you in Jesus Christ. He is risen, and we too shall rise to eternal life. God and sinners are reconciled through the shed blood of Jesus. Our sins are atoned for, paid for, and forgiven. Peace with God is ours and Heaven is our home. Alleluia. Amen.
