Helixes and Nozzles to Fit Your Feeding Application

Selecting the correct helix (screw, auger, etc.) and nozzle is critical to the performance of any dry material feeder. Over the last 40 years, Schenck Process has used application and lab-based experiences with more than 9,000 materials to develop an array of individual helixes, nozzles and specific combinations that have been field-proven to offer the best metering possible.  Current configurations include the use of 304, 316 and 316L stainless steel as well as various coatings, which can extend helix and nozzle life and reduce material build up.

Our staff of sales applications engineers are standing by to discuss your specific application and the helix and nozzle combination that is best for your feeding process.

T ech Tip: Common Problems Connecting with Easy Serve Using Ethernet
Tips from Schenck Process Service Technicians to ensure your equipment continues to run accurately and efficiently.

All new Schenck Process controllers, like the DISOCONT Tersus and INTECONT Tersus, can connect with Easy Serve software using Ethernet. This allows you to plug into any network hub and run Easy Serve remotely.  Depending on your computer's settings, you may see one of two problems when connecting: you cannot see the controller on the network and the controller text is in red in the scanner box.

When you cannot see the controller.

  • Check your firewall setting and security settings by going to the control panel on your computer.
  • Open task manager and shut down any programs that may be locking up your computer port.
When the controller text is displayed in red.

  • You will see both controllers have the same IP address. You should never have two controllers with the same IP address on the same network.
  • Use the configure button to change the IP address of the controller. Verify the system is not using fieldbus communications.
  • Change the IP address before plugging in the Ethernet cable. This can happen when you replace a controller.

  • You can check your computer's IP address by pressing the LAN button.
  • Change the IP address of the controller by pressing on the configure button.
  • After changing the IP address the controller text should go from red to black.
  • When the controller text is displayed in black you can connect to the controller.
  • Highlight the controller and press the connect button.
  • Easy Serve will open. If this is the first time connecting to the controller it will take a couple minutes to build the database file.
  • Depending on your company's policies, you may need your IT Department's help to change the IP address or security setting.
If you have any questions or need assistance please contact our Technical Service group at 888-742-1249 x3.
