Rick Wilcox to Give Talk on Mountain Rescues in the Whites July 8th at 4 PM 
Rick Wilcox in the Himalayas

Since 1976 Rick Wilcox has been the President of the Mountain Rescue Service. Since that time he has been involved in over 100 missions rescuing lost and injured hikers throughout the White Mountains. 


 Rick will talk about his experiences helping people in the mountains and what is required of someone who wants to get involved in such activities. 


 This program is part of the 2015 Summer Reading Program, whose theme is "Every Hero Has a Story." 

 

Light refreshments will be served.

The Friends of the Conway Public Library will hold their annual blowout summer book sale event July 10th and 11th in the Ham Community Room. Thousands of books of all varieties will be available for sale.

Library Partners with "End 68 Hours of Hunger" to Help Feed the Children of the Valley 
You Can't Read If
You Are Hungry 

Reading is fundamental but eating is even more so. End 68 Hours of Hunger is a group that helps feed school children over weekends with the 68 hours being the time the kids leave school on Friday and return on Monday. CPL will be a pick up point for their clients over the summer. For more information about  End 68, and how to donate to this worthy cause, check out their brochure.

Summer Reading Program is in Full Swing 
There is still plenty of time to register your child for the Summer Reading Program. Just by signing up your child can receive either a coupon for free ice cream at Dairy Queen or a ticket to a Portland Sea Dog game.
