TRIBUTE FROM LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE DAN HANSEN
The Magical Waters of Shabazz Run Deep

Being a fairly regular sub at Shabbazz City High School
I have learned much from using what has become for me
a very special periscope

For the waters of Shabazz run deep with a richness of young
people stepping into responsible adulthood and planning for
their own distinct futures

Some students are young responsible adults upon arrival
others have a ways to go and receive thoughtful caring
guidance from talented teachers and experienced students

Submerging in the deep medicinal like waters of Shabazz
creates a unique sharing community of mindful students and
teachers with a strong desire to bring out the best in all students

“A very special periscope?” And perhaps a unique mysterious sonar
enable these young adults to realize their full future potentials in what
seems the magical deep inviting waters of a school named Shabazz

Shabazz Art Graces Northside Goodwill Community Room
Art students at Malcolm Shabazz City High School created a mural for the Northside Goodwill Community Room.
The mural was unveiled to the public during a ceremony on April 26, 2018. It was a meaningful celebration for the artistic accomplishments of Shabazz students.
