<3<3<3  February 19, 2015
Hello! Yesterday was my youngest son's 18th birthday.
It's the end of a 26 year run of being a parent of at least one minor and now I am the proud parent of three adults! Without peers to discuss the daily experiences with... the highs and lows; exercise partners to share the laughter and challenges with; and watching other families take on the daunting task of raising amazing adults... well, it just wouldn't have worked as well as it did. It takes a village... and lots of resources, information and support.

Why does that matter to you? Well life is full of changes, and adjusting is the key to smooth transition. Yes having 18 years under your belt, or 38 years, means great experience, yet it's easy to stay caught up inside our own walls and miss out on other chances to see things differently...even when we are doing it well.

Are you in transition with your business as it matures? Where in the life cycle are you in your career, your position, your ownership, your future plans, your exit strategy?
What skills, services, tools, equipment, and resources are you going to add to your portfolio to see continued success today, tomorrow and when the winds shift, the seasons, change, and it's time to look at things differently?

I hope you continue to engage PPI as a "Go To" when you're seeking employers or employment, research on areas of growth, purchase possibilities, partners in saving on items, or services and information to help you do the best you can during your journey. We have key connections to help with re-organizational activities, mergers & acquisitions, business development strategies, upsizing, downsizing, right sizing. As I tell my kids... just ask!

It's not over, but surely the tide is shifting once again and it's time to decide what's next. I can't wait to see what's ahead for me, and part of that is working with you (cause this mama is going to need more to do :)

How to capitalize on all the Hype!

It's a 50 shades kind of week...

A fellow printer in Arkansas decided to ride the wave and post a clever blog post commemorating the press this PRINTED piece of literature (or trash) has created.

Curious?? Nervous? intrigued? See the CustomXM post HERE .

Speaking of blogs and good writing... what are you doing to maximize your exposure, expand your horizons and tempt new business using content?

Here's a blog from PIA directed to small businesses on 5 Tips to Create Quality Content ... from your experience share with customers what they're missing!

Feeling Secure? Ask yourself...
Why am I being asked about SSAE 16, SOC 2, or HIPAA?  And what do I need to know to talk intelligently? Do we need it?

If you are hearing prospects and clients ask about SSAE 16 or other audit standards, as many have, you will want to know what SSAE 16, SOC 2, FISMA and other data security audit standards are all about, how to speak intelligently about them, and how they can be utilized as a business development tool.

We have the answers and more! Join us THURSDAY  (TODAY) @ 2/19 11am PT on our free webinar with new PPI partner KirkpatrickPrice. The event will be recorded if you can't attend.
Print Sales DNA under the Microscope

Printing Sales DNA PROJECT seeking input for study

The Printing Sales DNA Project is all about identifying and prioritizing both the personality traits and the working skills and attitudes that make up the optimum "DNA" for a modern

printing salesperson.

The Printing Sales DNA Project seeks responses from salespeople, sales managers, printing company owners, and other company managers, even if they're not directly involved in sales. The goal is to identify both what salespeople think is important, and what management thinks is important, and ultimately to get everyone on the same page.

All participants in the survey will receive a complimentary copy of the basic results.

Just 'cause you're old doesn't mean you can't be lean!

A blog post worth a pedal to the metal:

America's Oldest Bike Company Could Use Lean Manufacturing to Remain the Oldest?

From Mark Garban's LEAN BLOG after watching a CNNMoney Story

The Worksman story is wonderful. Counter to the major trend in American manufacturing, Worksman has continued to make their industrial bicycles, tricycles and food carts in their humble Brooklyn factory rather than chasing low labor costs to China like so many others. Family owned and operated for over one hundred years, they have exhibited what Dr. Deming might call a constancy of purpose - and they stayed steadfast in same business niche through all that the 20th Century threw at them.

To somebody with an eye for Lean and operational excellence, the CNN piece about the little bike shop in Brooklyn comes across very differently. Safety glasses are few and far between. Workers grind, weld, and paint with little sign of simple error proofing for quality control.

Just Shake it off
Barack Obama Singing Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
Barack Obama Singing Shake It Off by Taylor Swift

Oregon has a NEW governor, there are ongoing challenges with terrorists abroad, we're starting to see the rumblings of the 2016 presidential candidates, gas prices are on the rise, boats are parked in the west coast waterways, and the weather is reeking havoc in most parts of the country. All serious stuff.

With all the political & national news abound, we thought is only best to take a moment to take a cue from Taylor Swift with President Obama taking the mic ... enjoy!
