Shall We Gather?
Support the Heifetz September Harvest
What a bountiful festival of music we celebrated this summer in the Shenandoah! We welcomed a total of 111 outstanding young string players to the Mary Baldwin campus in Staunton, from 16 countries and 23 states, who dazzled us with their brilliance at no fewer than 60 events.
The exhilaration of the season was nowhere more evident than in our Grand Finale and Farewell Feast. There were the invariably dazzling performances featuring our faculty, students and Artists in Residence, as well as some memorable moments of fun and festivity . Not to mention the unforgettable experience of seeing the "Heifetz Band" file in from all four corners of Francis Auditorium to play the thrilling Finale of Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence .
You won't find a moment more passionate - or poignant - in all of music, with the realization with each passing note on the part of students, faculty, and audience alike that our shared summer journey in Staunton is coming to a glorious conclusion.

These students have reaped the benefits of a Heifetz summer in the Shenandoah, an experience that represents an important – and for some, truly life-changing – milestone in their artistic development. You can't help but be excited to imagine the impact they will make in the future world of classical music.

Our summer of ’17 truly featured a bountiful and beautiful crop of superbly talented young artists. They have now scattered to the four winds, but our harvest is not yet all the way in. We still have 30 days to go before our summer-of-17 journey truly concludes, with the close of our Fiscal Year . Please help us gather together the necessary funds that enable us to give the unique Heifetz experience to the world's most talented young string players.

Please consider a 100% tax-deductible contribution before our barn doors shut on September 30th. And thank you!
