Dear World
Tuesday, September 27 from 7-8 PM
Manicur Assembly Hall
Lane University Center

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, the public is invited to view a unique, interactive portrait exhibit at Frostburg State University - with words drawn on skin to display simple, powerful messages - and listen to some of the deeper stories behind the images. The subjects of those portraits and stories may even look familiar to many in Western Maryland, as each is a student, faculty or staff member at FSU.

The free public "Storytelling and Photo Reveal" event will be held in the Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall of the Lane University Center from 7 to 8 p.m. Afterward, select #DearFrostburg images will be shared with a global audience by Dear World, the award-winning creative team behind the event.

Dear World asks its portrait subjects one question: " If you had one story to share with the world, what would you say?" The resulting images have been published in over 30 countries and featured by many major media outlets. Beyond short messages on their skin, Dear World invites subjects to share the deeper stories behind those messages.

These #DearFrostburg images and stories will showcase for the world the powerful identities that make Frostburg a special place. Through such storytelling, Dear World seeks to unite people by broadening their understanding of themselves, their colleagues and the world around them.

This event is sponsored by FSU Student Affairs and the Office of Student Activities and Greek Life SOAR Series.

For more information, contact Director of Student Activities  Robert Cooper.

secret What's On the Edge? Only Frostburg's best kept secret! A club series with a laid-back atmosphere of a back-alley room that's been converted to a club hangout with a cash bar, as in adult beverages for those over 21.

Lounge on a cushy couch or armchair while enjoying a beverage (so bring some cash) as super-cool artists do their super-cool thing.  Six musicians from different parts of Mexico known as Troker create a fusion of rhythm that is described as energetic, funky, innovative and raucous.
