"She went. She conquered. She returned...
...reluctantly.
But she returned."

HOW WAS IT?
While there is still much personal processing and post-sabbatical journal writing to be done, I must take this moment to  thank you. Your prayers were heard and answered - from safe travel for me to smooth operations here at home and everything in between.

There's really only one word to describe the entire experience - and that would be "indescribable." From climbing mountains to quietly strolling the dirt roads of a quaint and tiny town, I was able to completely "unplug" - slow down, breathe deeply, and receive the gift of peace. It felt wonderful - physically, spiritually, mentally.

After returning from the 4-day backpack ("sabbatical kick-off") trip in the Sawtooth Mountains, I spent the remainder of my days in Stanley, Idaho ("gateway to the Sawtooth"), reading, writing, day hiking, resting, and gazing at the mountains from my little balcony. I returned home with one week of time off before returning to the office, which allowed for a quiet and gradual "reentry."

WHAT'S NEXT?
For now, keep following the path that the Lord places before me. Trust Him. Believe Him. Take care of my soul, and become more intentional about taking care of the souls of the Counselors and Staff. Spend a few days each month at the Receptionist's desk - reigniting my passion and getting back in touch with the reason I started this gig - each woman who walks through our front door who was once (and sometimes still is) me.  Maintain a slower pace, good boundaries, and moments of Sabbath rest. Listen.

"He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners ... to rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; and renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations."
