Legends Radio is also proud to present indy musicians. This week we present artist Thomas Amelio who appears on the RAD compilation CD, "Recording Artists Presents New Music By New Artists." We will talk to Thomas about his career and music recorded with RAD Producer Philip Carroll as well as his earlier work. Thomas Michael Amelio is a singer-songwriter whose first solo CD, "Inner Quest", was released in 1994. In 2002 the jazz-pop-World-Music fusion CD "Shakti Fusion" was released by his 8-piece band of the same name. In 2008 he released a CD of Sanskrit mantra invocations for deep meditation: "Mantra Darshan." His music weaves elements from several traditions, pop, R&B, gospel, gospel, and Indian classical. "I like to create music that takes me on the whole human journey-- from despair to the depths of heartfelt inspiration." He is also Director of the New York Open Center, Manhattan (opencenter.org) and a founding member of Kripalu Center for Yoga and health (kripalu.org), Thomas also studied yogic meditation and philosophy while living in India where he edited the book Yoga: The Ultimate Spiritual Path --a comprehensive work on yoga philosophy, by Rajarshi Muni (Llewellyn Publications published 1994).
As a follow-up, Evan has also invited Thomas to perform at Gizzi's Cafe, 16 West 8th St. in New York City on February 18, 2011.
