Sales Tax Exemption
We are often asked if service units and/or troops may use the council's non-profit tax exempt identification number when making purchases to eliminate the state sales tax . T he short answer is no.

The State of Michigan has only recognized the corporation - the council - as tax exempt and not individual troops or service units, so troops and service units must pay sales tax on all purchases.
Spring Cleaning at
Camp Anna Behrens
Spring is here and it's time for outdoor activities! We need help with some jobs to get Camp Anna Behrens ready for this year's summer activities. The areas we need help in are: cleaning camp sites and sleeping shelters in White Pine, Sawmill, and Skyway; cleaning the shower houses; and cleaning up the beach area, bird sanctuary and archery range.

As an incentive, we are offering a FREE one night stay in one of our brand new (heated!) yurts for every service project your troop helps with!  Available dates are May 26-29.

Please contact Gary Lemke, Property Manager, at 616-784-6669 ext.143 or  glemke@gsmists.org
if your troop would like to volunteer.

Location: Camp Anna Behrens 9841 Colby Rd, Greenville, MI
