Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore's Shore Essentials
GSMISTS  I  November 14, 2016

Community Partners
We are adding events to our GSMISTS calendar as they develop and we are highlighting the event additions in our bi-monthly Shore Essentials newsletter. Many of our programs are now in coordination with our new Community Partners.

In addition to the events posted on our calendar, volunteers are now able to schedule specific activities with their girls based on specific interests. Our Community Partners that are coordinating with GSMISTS are going to be partners that support the interests of your girls. We are working on growing the list of our community partners as we speak.

Girl Scouts Take the Lead
to Change the World
For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts has prepared every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ to practice a lifetime of leadership, enabling her to take the lead in creating positive change in lives and communities across the map.

And now, we're taking our legacy of leadership to a whole new level by collaborating with Disney Channel and Disney Junior to encourage every girl to discover their inner leader. Because at Girl Scouts and Disney Channel, we know that leadership isn't just about who you are, but about what you do.

Volunteer Invite-a-Friend
As a Girl Scout volunteer, you introduce girls to fun, new, and unique experiences every day, and help them find their spark as they prepare to practice a lifetime of leadership. You're their biggest fan, their guiding star, and their hero, and we need more amazing mentors just like you to impact even more girls' lives.

From November 15 to December 15, invite a friend to start a new Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie, or Junior troop, and everyone wins!

Plus, when you double the friends, you double your prize-$100 for you to spend at the online  Girl Scout Shop and a  Volunteer Resource Pack (a $50 value) for each friend.

Beginning November 15, claim your prize here.

Please make sure that all girls and adult members are re-registered for the 2017 Membership season if they wish to participate in either of the Product Sales. Please also remember, before a girl receives a selling packet or order card, the parent/guardian must fill out the Parent Permission form for the troop to keep on file. One form is good for both Fall and Cookie sales.

Check out the new Gift of Caring Program this year for Fall Sales and Cookies. All donations stay at your local level with girls distributing the items to their choice of "Hometown Heroes." W e ask that the girls work with their Service Unit to coordinate a designated site, and we would love to see pictures of the girls donating! Fall Sale Gift of Caring items will be direct shipped to the SUPSM delivery locations.
The cookie Gift of Caring program will have two options: 1) CGOC, cookies get ordered but do not get delivered to the SU or troops, Council picks a designated Home Town Hero's location. 2) TGOC, cookies get ordered and delivered to the SU and troops to donate to their local Home Town Hero's of their choice

It needs to be full dollar amount earned for the choice and shipping and handling charges for online sales do apply. All girls in troop do not have to agree on which method. Some may chose online while others may want the card. Once the choice is made, it can not be reversed. Please call your local Council Product Sales staff person for questions or concerns.
