My thoughts

We went on vacation at the family cottage in Michigan and it was wonderful.  I took my camera and looked at things with new eyes...with no expectations...and no demands.  The colors were brilliant.  The weather was beautiful.   The moods were light and happy.  We had a ton of fun and didn't want to leave.  We have no dreams about Miss "L" ALWAYS wanting to come up here with us.  Well, we do, but we have to face reality someday.  We hope to extend that by having her invite a friend too when they get to the age that we are not cool any longer.  Hasn't happened yet, but we know that time is coming even though that sweet face tells us otherwise.  While we were there, I took images of sunsets, the lighthouse and even made some flowering weeds the star of the picture. It was for me...for my own eyes and for the eyes of anyone else that wants to look.  I wanted to get that back...that excitement of taking pictures for me even though we have hundreds of the same place from year after year of going there.  It brings back the creativity...the thought process of trying something new...the excitement of seeing what I created.  Some work out, some don't. But when they do, it is beyond worth it to have tried. Enjoy the time, the space and the experience of creating something...no matter what it is for you personally.  It is so rewarding.

About Us

Short Stories Photography by Julie specializes in photographing newborns and children and loves to work with children of all ages.  I can relate with them on their level and I appreciate every stage about them. Because of that, I can create portraits that reflect who your child is in this time.  If you are someone that feels that you want those memories, let me create them for you.

Facebook Love
There is a feature that was added to my Facebook page..  The best thing you can do for me and my studio besides help me spread the word is go there to my biz page and add a review on your experience at the studio and with me. I would love to hear how I did and what you think about the studio, the products, your session, anything!  (If you have never been to the studio or had a session with me. please be kind enough to not add a review.) Thanks!
New at the studio
Some changes were made  to some things at the studio.  I now have an all digital file only session that requires the purchase of digital files only. It is a 30 minute session with one set or location spot included, then you purchase 10 files for $500.  You could purchase portraits and products if desired, but not required.  I also LOVE canvas portraits. I have changed the pricing for the canvas on masonite and the canvas gallery wraps. There are some gift print collections that save you money.  I also have an inspiration guide that has wall gallery collections that have 20% off of regular prices when purchased together.
Coming soon!  I will be looking for a mom to host a portrait event at her home. Call me for details if interested.  You could earn up to $500 in portrait credit.

Newborns! Newborns! Newborns!
I am so enjoying the newborns that are coming into the studio!  There are more to come so remember, I am no longer limiting the amount of newborn clients to 4 per month as before. If you have been a client here, you get a $100 referral portrait credit whenever you refer a new client to the studio along with the new client receiving that as well!
