"This should be called 'The Late Term Abortion Party.'

"Political cynicism has reached a Golden Age with Gov. Cuomo's announcement of the Women's Equality Ballot line. Voices from across the spectrum called for the Governor to stop holding a women's equality agenda hostage to a late term abortion expansion provision, and the Governor rejected those calls and allowed legislation to protect victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, pregnancy discrimination, and unequal pay to die in the Assembly controlled by the Governor's own party. For that same Governor to then launch a new ballot line as though there were any obstacle to the passage of a true women's equality agenda other than the governor himself and his allies in the radical abortion-extremist fringe indicates an entirely new level of cynicism.

"What it makes clear is that Gov. Cuomo and his allies like NARAL, which has been advocating for an abortion industry bailout with dark money for years, are more interested in their own political gain than in the wellbeing of women in New York. The women of New York should be outraged that the Governor and his allies would hold so cheap the notion of women's equality that they are willing to make it the centerpiece of a crass political ploy. Shame on Governor Cuomo."
