Announcing the 2015 Show Theme

Time After Time:

Bringing the Past Present

Time After Time looks at time through many lenses. It speaks to the lasting quality of something beautiful, the time that goes into creating a work of art, the span of time the objects in the show encompass, and, through our curated loan exhibition, will showcase the evolution of timepieces throughout history.

GRADUATIONS!

This is an exciting time of year for Enterprise! This Way Ahead completed their 6th cycle with almost 90 youth graduating the program. The spring cycle of the Pathways Program has just wrapped up with 55 youth graduating. After all of the job training, resume and cover letter instruction, and practice interviews these new EHSS members are ready to take on the professional world!

Kicking off the summer, EHSS youth have secured close to 140 summer jobs: working as interns at the Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic stores; interning in various career fields throughout SF including City Hall, First Republic Bank, and Kaiser; caddying at the prestigious Olympic Club; and helping to beautify our parks with SF Parks & Recreation. We couldn't be more proud of our committed and motivated youth!

Sumptuous symbols of cultural and political power, silk velvets were the preeminent luxury textile in many parts of Europe and the Islamic world during the 16th-18th centuries. Woven Luxuries presents 10 exquisite velvets from that period-including a complete 17th-century Persian carpet-offering a glimpse into the richness and elegance of textiles from Safavid Iran, Mughal India and Ottoman Turkey, the three "superpowers" of the early modern Islamic world.
