Pancake Dinner to Support Research

This year's Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner takes place
on Tuesday, 28 February from 6 to 8 p.m.
Once again the Sunday Club families are organising our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner. This year the Sunday Club has decided that donations collected at the dinner will go in support of Emily and Ben Rolfe's campaign to raise funds for diabetes research by running the Marathon des Sables in April (see below).
Queen Elizabeth marks her Sapphire Anniversary
(From Reuthers) Queen Elizabeth, the world's longest-reigning living monarch, celebrated her Sapphire Jubilee on Monday, 6th February, commemorating 65 years since she took the British throne. A 41-gun royal salute took place in central London to mark the occasion. The queen's office released a 2014 portrait showing her wearing a suite of sapphire jewelry she received from King George VI as a wedding gift in 1947.The Queen, 90, has cut back on international tours but still regularly performs official duties around Britain. In December she said she would reduce the number of her patronages, passing on her role at dozens of charities, academic institutions and sporting groups to other members of the royal family.
Congratulations Your Majesty!
Emily & Ben in training for the Sahara
Emily _ Ben Rolfe geared up for the Sahara

Here is a message from Emily Rolfe, "My dad and I are training to run the Marathon des Sables, the 'world's toughest footrace', a 250km run in the Sahara Desert, from the 7th to the 17th of April 2017. To encourage us in our journey, through the intense training and during the race itself, you can help us raise funds for a £19,500 Diabetes UK project.
